Mista Bumpy ( Mail / ) 2009/10/26 (Mon) 21:04 ( ID:dwi3d3gqita ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] Aloha! I would like to know if the DVD-RAM files I edit in MPEG Editor 3 can then be burned to an ordinary DVD-R disc, or if they have to be copied back to a DVD-RAM disc? In other words, can I convert these RAM files to DVD-R? Email me if you want.

Pewe ( Mail / ) 2009/08/21 (Fri) 07:19 ( ID:frtgxhjlhoc ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] When I output my project in BD format, it appears to create the necessary folders/structure.
However when I burn to disc and try to play the movie it won't play - for example PowerDVD says the disc is in Unsupported format.
Why is this? tkrave 2009/08/26 (Wed) 17:40 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]Do you have right PowerDVD version? Their website says only the Ultra version can play BD format.
If it's not that, it may have to do with the BDAV format, but that's just a guess.
Pewe ( Mail / ) 2009/08/30 (Sun) 09:34 ( ID:frtgxhjlhoc ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]My copy of PowerDVD plays other BluRay, so it must be the format.
I am not sure what the settings for the format should be (for UK) - can anyone enlighten me?

tom.amitai ( Mail / ) 2009/07/25 (Sat) 14:42 ( ID:9rgjcupdqyj ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] If you select "copy DVD files to hard drive", how do you cleanup, by deleting, those files after you don't need them any more? I don't see a selection for that in the preferences, do you just find the folder where they are stored and delete them? tkrave 2009/07/29 (Wed) 17:49 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]Yeah, you just delete the files from the directory you saved them under; there's no automatic deletion setting.

Question - URGENT: PAL Progressive to NTSC Interlace

brainiac 2009/07/18 (Sat) 05:56 ( ID:nmxn7xtbeq2 ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] I bought TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 earlier today. I captured a TV show using a PC capture card. MPEG2 video is PAL Progressive, I would like the output file as MPEG2 NTSC Interlace before I burn this to a DVD-R. I can't find the setting to change this video setting. I'm really disappointed. Can't TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 do this? Is this a software bug? If not, I want my refund. All I'd like to do is simply remove the commercials, and output as MPEG2 NTSC Interlace before burning. Which program can make this output? Please help, thank you. tkrave 2009/07/23 (Thu) 17:31 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]You can change it to NTSC in the Format Stage under Video Settings-->Aspect ratio.
However, I don't think you can change it from progressive to interlace since that would require re-encoding the whole video...and MPEG Editor 3 is not an encoder; it's only an editor.

I tried adjusting the louder one down, then opening the other and listening to see if it is the same, then repeating this but i never get it quite right. Is there some way to visually see the levels, or a better workaround?

I kill the frozen process
and again when I relaunch the application, the process is present but no trace of the software on the Windows desktop
problem with the latest updates ". NET Framework" on windows update?
activation system crap?
any case the software has become useless spiral 2009/04/03 (Fri) 02:07 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]hi,
Did you update or upgrade your Security system?.
Some times secure software checks actions in the memory, if it is
blocked to run the program correctly comes such crash, please run the
program by turning off your security software, or check its block list
and settings.
-Also try to run the program as administrator.
-Also...please try to update your video and graphic drives.
Did you made a Windows update?, if so try to back the point before such
update, this also provokes errors, possibly is a wrong Windows update.
Also may be there is a problem with your graphic card spec, check about them.
Also try by installing the newest version of .NET framework(version
3.5), This version cannot be update by normal Windows update

Question - Fade in at Beginning/Add text

No.26

klrmtn ( Mail / ) 2009/01/30 (Fri) 14:00 ( ID:i3cq7kh0oka ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] I see how to add transitions between clips and to the last clip to fade out. My question is how to add it to the top of the first clip to fade in. The fade transition has a fade in/out, so it seems like it should be able to.
Second part, is there a way to add text? Any plans to add this in the future?
Thanks. tkrave 2009/02/02 (Mon) 21:13 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]For now it can only add the transition to the end of a clip. A workaround would be to make a solid black clip that lasts for a few seconds. You can then make it fade out/in to your "real" first clip.
If you're using a camcorder, you could probably just record video in a pitch black room or something.
There's currently no way to add text. Would be a good option for credits and titles and such. Hopefully they'll add it in the future.

Shouldn't be a problem though if you add it to your safe list.
To test if it'll work okay on your system, you should download the trial version. It also needs an internet connection to obtain a trial license so it's a good way to see if your antivirus likes the validation system or not.

Kristian Horn ( Mail / ) 2009/01/19 (Mon) 18:10 ( ID:cybusi0tzxa ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] I keep getting this error message whenever I try to launch this program. I just purchased it last night and it won't launch. I contacted customer support and it looks like I may have to wait a couple of days before I get an answer. Can anyone here help me???? tkrave 2009/01/20 (Tue) 23:20 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]What is your OS?
Is your OS 64-bit?
How much RAM do you have?
Were you running any other programs when you encountered this error?
It could be anything at this point.
Try to reinstall it if you can. Sometimes a bad install can cause problems.
SaphireX 2009/02/06 (Fri) 14:06 ( ID:mrjuh2rsj6r ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]More detail: I had not used the software for maybe a week or so and upon attempting to start it yesterday it failed to start with this error message:
''TMPGEnc MPEG Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close'' sucessive attempts also failed. I decided to uninstall - reboot - re-install - reboot and the same error occurs.
The only change to my system (Vista64 Ultimate w/SP1)was last week installing KB958481 the update for the .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 - Windows6.0-KB958481-x64.msu and installing KB958483 the update for the .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 - Windows6.0-KB958483-x64.msu
It would appear that whatever the uppdate was to .NET Framework 3.0 has rendered TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 useless.
Please advise if a new version is forthcoming or some compatibility patch that will work with the MS NET Framework Update
Thanks
SaphireX 2009/02/09 (Mon) 13:21 ( ID:mrjuh2rsj6r ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]I received a response from TMPGEnc Tech Support:
"SP2 of .Net Framework is not supported, please download and install the previous one."
Best regards
Alex TMPG Inc. / Pegasys Inc. Support team
Since the SP2 of .NET Framework is more of a core code for in this case Vista64 I am not about to uninstall the SP2 and go back to the earlier version of .NET Framework!
I would hope that in the next version of their software TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 that they will re-code it so that it supports SP2 to .NET Framework since MS has released this SP2 it would seem to shift the burden of responsibility back on the software creators to make their software SP2 compliant....
Until then I am losing out on purchased software and quite frankly I am not a happy camper!!!
tkrave 2009/02/10 (Tue) 19:17 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]As far as I know Vista64 isn't officially supported so you were taking a chance with it to begin with. Did you download the trial and/or system check tool to see if it would work on your computer before you bought it?
SaphireX 2009/02/25 (Wed) 07:12 ( ID:cw/ksxxxli2 ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]If you had read my original message you would have taken note that I had been running TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 the purchased version since it's release under VISTA64 with ZERO issues. It only failed to load AFTER there was a pushed update to .NET Framework 3.0/3.5
So...the final verdict from tech support at Pegasys was that most likely the update to .NET Framework "broke" TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 and their advice was to uninstall the SP to .NET Framework and SEE if that resolved the issue. Since the SP to .NET Framework is a "core" OS update it would be silly for me to uninstall it and I guess until the coders for the MPEG Editor 3 revise the programs code to work with the SP to .NET Framework 3 as well as perhaps improve 64-bit compatability. Until then I am left with TMPGEnc XPRESS 4.0 that still works just fine under Vista64 including the updated .NET Framework...

1. Will it be possible to mix audio from multiple audio sources with the video. ex 1st minute of the video with say audio stream 1 and 2nd minute of the video with audio stream 2.
2. is it possible to work with multiple video streams.

JoeComp ( Mail / ) 2008/12/07 (Sun) 01:54 ( ID:v6tlqxx8ilm ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] I just installed MPEG Editor 3 and am having trouble inserting transitions between key frames. I can find no way to make the insertion and the user manual is very vague about it. Is it possible that there is something wrong with the program? tkrave 2008/12/10 (Wed) 01:01 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]Transitions can only be applied between clips, so to insert a transition into one clip, you'll have to first divide the clip into two clips.
See the post below about clip splitting for instructions.
Once you have two clips, go back the Source stage's main window and click on the "Transition editor" button on the right side of the window. This opens the transition editor window.
Here, you can select your transition and press "OK" to apply it. Back in the Source stage, an orange arrow with "TR" in it shows that you have applied a transition effect.
Once you're happy with your transitions, you can go to the Format stage. Here, make sure that "Single file output" is selected as the Output mode.
Now it will be outputted as a single file with all of your transition effects applied.

To split your clip, use the clip split button in the Cut-edit window. The clip split button has an icon that looks like this:
<-|->
(two arrows and a bar in the middle).
Use the clip split button to set the split point. Then click "OK". A clip split window appears. Click on the "Split" button to register each division as a separate clip.

bobkart ( Mail / Home ) 2008/11/02 (Sun) 08:08 ( ID:mjsfs3y0w2l ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] This would be similar to how TMPGEnc Express can read from a DVD file structure to obtain a source video. Ideally the MPEG Editor 3, which can output BDAV format, could also read source video from a BDAV format. Just trying to see if this is actually the case. Thanks. myself 2008/11/28 (Fri) 07:09 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]I think you can import mpeg (.m2ts ,m2t) files created into a BD, but from BD H264/VC-1 and AVCHD is not possible.
I suppose because this software is only for deep edition and output of mpeg files.

Walter 2008/09/24 (Wed) 05:37 ( ID:5lbz.hjxiph ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ] When I convert a video, it ends up 3/3 grid of squares in the upper right hand corner of the video. Anyone know why, or how to fix? myself 2008/10/17 (Fri) 07:45 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]I dont know what do you exactly mean, so could you provide a screen shoot?, also what kind of mpeg file is your source file?, is it captured?, there are times when some mpeg files (specially the captured) are weird, have corrupted data, broken, have no time head code, etc.
You file plays ok at Cut-edit preview?, if not is problem of your source file.
Try with the MPEG Tool to Multiplex the file before input.
Start MPEG tool > Multiplexer.
- Choose your mpeg file and output it. (You must change the name or
path of the Output file).
- Import the output file from Multiplexer in a new Editor 3
project and check about it.

Ararat 2008/11/01 (Sat) 09:47 ( ID:.t2yyuxd81h ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]This issue is the main reason why I did not purchase this software. It edited all my SD recordings fine, but gave this error for ALL recordings off our HD channels (I live in Australia). I ended up going with VideoReDo instead. It's a real shame, because I much prefer TMPGEnc's interface, which is much slicker and more professional than that of VideoReDo. TMPGEnc also has a vastly superior batch encode tool.
I'll be keeping my eye on this, as I would definitely want this prog if it did HD properly. But at the moment, I can't justify $100 AUD for a program that doesn't work on any HD recordings.
I don't get why it complains either... Obviously the bitrate ISN'T too high for the level, as it is being broadcast over the air and must comply with DVB standards. Anyway why does the program care? It's doing a smartrender - just copy the data. If it wants to use a lower bitrate on those few frames that it reencodes, then it's welcome too, but to stop the output altogether?
David McQuat ( Mail / ) 2009/04/28 (Tue) 06:51 ( ID:aeqgtgptb/g ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]I am also in Australia and record HD free to air TV. I have had TPMGE DVD authoring 2.0 for some time and while the program advises that the bitrate is too high it will proceed if instructed the result is first class DVD disks. Imagine my surprise when after purchasing Editor 3 that the program refuses to proceed to DVD authoring because of the bitrate.
